Employment Practices

Employment policy modern slavery

Airlangga University strongly opposes human abuse on modern slavery, human trafficking, and child labor as stated in policy number 163/UN3/HM/2021. This shows that we prevent modern slavery and ensure all employees’ mental health and well-being (point 1). ID cards must be proven to avoid underage workers (point 2), and we ensure to give our employees work contracts to secure a job that governs their rights and obligations (point 3). This commitment is in line with the Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 13 of 2003 on Employment, which ensures that no one is prohibited from employing children or underage workers to avoid slavery (Article 74). Moreover, the Law of Human Rights in Article 20, page 7 on the Republic of Indonesia Act No. 39 of 1999 stated firmly that slavery and women trafficking are false conduct and prohibited.
