University Measures Towards Affordable and Clean Energy
Energy efficiency services for industry
Universitas Airlangga is committed to grounding the use of renewable energy in the local industry which focuses on developing EBT. We successfully installed a wind power plant (PLTB) for the community in the Gili Iyang Island. This wind power plant still supports the local small industry to lower their energy costs by generating their own electricity. We are also supporting farmers in Gempol and Sumenep to use solar power plants for hydroponic systems and lighting systems. Additionally, Photosynthetic Microbial Fuel Cell (PMFC) technology is our on-going research to be developed for providing SMEs with electrical energy from shrimp cultivation waste and microalgae ( Scenedesmus sp. ) with the capability to produce electricity in microquantities.
