Academic freedom policy
Airlangga University as a body has a policy of supporting academic freedom. Several regulations have been made including Rector’s Regulation number 34 of 2019, 11 of 2020, and 22 of 2021. In Rector’s Regulation number 34 of 2022, paragraph 19 concerns about student participation in any research. The third part of paragraph 20(c) also regulates that researchers should collaborate in various scientific disciplines. Academic student freedom has been outlined in Rector’s Regulation Number 22 of 2021 paragraph 79 explaining the Independent Learning and Independent Campus (MB-KM) program. This program provides flexibility for students to take different academic programs from other majors. This would allow students to participate in diverse programs and projects outside the university for 3 semesters. We offer opportunities for internship (Independent Internship), Teaching Campus, PMM, IISMA. This shows that Universitas Airlangga fully supports academic freedom in learning.
