For identifying energy consumption, Universitas Airlangga measures and monitors the GHG emissions. We found out that electricity consumption is the highest throughout our campuses. Our main campus, Campus C, is identified for using the highest energy due to its function as the main workplace for staffs and lecturers. However, we also explore the potential for renewable energy usage on our campus. They conduct research on renewable energy with a focus on solar cells. The research results show the high energy potential of the sun in which we plan to utilize our open space nearby the Lake for a solar power plant. Apart from economic benefits, solar cells provide advantages to be green and sustainable campus.
