Carbon reduction and emission reduction processes
Airlangga University measures and manages our greenhouse gas emissions within our campus. As much as 0.52 CO2 equivalent emissions per person are calculated from the 2022 data. From all of our campuses, the biggest emissions come from the main campus C. We commit to offsetting our carbon emissions through composting management in our Compost House to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. As stated in Rector’s Decree Number 1839/UN3/2018, our compost houses are equipped with good compost management procedures. In reducing our students and staff’s commuting emissions and private vehicles, we provide costless green transportation, ie, bicycles, and electric bikes, otherwise, Flash bus (Fast Local Area Shuttle) is provided as sustainable commuting transportation between campuses. We also improve pedestrian walks within campuses to encourage students to cut emissions by walking to places inside our campus.
