Policy re: plastic waste reduction
In tackling the plastic waste problem, we formed our regulation in Rector’s Regulation Number 2904/UN3/2019 and Circular Letter Number 3410/UN3.1.10/TU/2019 for reducing single-use drinking bottles. Bottled-water with single use packaging and plastic bags are prohibited since 2019 throughout the campus food court. As an alternative, the university provides drinking water dispensers and glasses in any office as well as meeting rooms. Most of our faculties have also supported these policies by providing tumblr for lecturers and staffs which must be brought in any activities including meetings. The university encourages all members of the academic community to opt for cloth bags and bring their own reusable tumblers or water bottles in order to reduce the use of plastic packaging. In pursuit of a plastic-free campus, UNAIR has partnered with the Student Executive Board to raise awareness and advocate for initiatives aimed at minimizing plastic waste.
