SDG 13: Climate Action  

Airlangga University engages in cooperative planning for climate change disasters, collaborating with the government. We have the Integrated Disaster Risk Reduction Research Group to research and community service focusing on disaster-resistant families in Central Sulawesi. This required to organize a focus group discussion with the Regional Disaster Management Agency, the Sigi District Environmental Service, and the provincial government that facilitated advocacy and planning for the implementation of a multi-hazard prevention system for disaster-resistant families. It led to the establishment of a Disaster Risk Reduction Forum in the Central Sulawesi region. However, in preparing our community for the disasters caused by climate change, we regularly host outreach programs to educate the mitigation strategy when facing severe natural hazards and extreme weather conditions.
