Water discharge guidelines and standards
Airlangga University complies with Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 22 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Environmental Protection and Management containing water quality standards. In implementing this policy, we installed Sewage Treatment Plant Using a sewage treatment plant (STP). It efficiently processes water, ensuring the neutralization of both acidic and alkaline elements before it is either discharged or safely stored in concrete tanks. The process consists of six steps: waste water collection, re-treatment, biological treatment, sedimentation, filtration and disinfection, and distribution. This treatment has two primary purposes, including flushing toilets and irrigation plants that are used in all facilities and units. By processing water before discharging, it protects our ecosystem from water pollution.
