Operational Measures

Policy for minimisation of disposable items

Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) formed two regulations stated in Rector’s Regulation Number 2904/UN3/2019 and Circular Letter Number 115/UN3.44/TU/2023 to reduce disposable items usage such as plastic bottles and paper on our campus. We are under a strict policy to reduce our plastic drinking water packaging, plastic bags, and disposable food and drink packaging in faculties, work units, and canteens. However, we provide access to drinking water dispensers and glasses in all offices and meeting rooms, effectively reducing the reliance on single-use items. Not only for plastic use, we also ensure in minimizing paper waste by developing e-office applications as a communication tool between units and faculties. Cybercampus application has also been developed for students. Importantly, administrative documents are switching into digital formats, including more usage of e-books which is minimizing storage space requirements and paper waste.
