The Campus Food Waste Tracking indicator is a crucial metric used in evaluating universities’ efforts to combat food waste as part of SDG 2. It will assess whether Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) actively measures the amount of food waste generated from its dining services, thus reflecting its commitment to sustainability and responsible resource management.
Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) measures the amount of food waste in every year. In 2022, UNAIR revealed 73 tonnes of food waste. Emphasizing transparency and a sustainable approach, whether food services are in-house or outsourced, procedures are in place to manage waste effectively. All the food waste at UNAIR is processed in Compost House and it used for fertilizing plants and cattle fooder.
