Support of Arts and Heritage

Record and preserve cultural heritage

As an institution, we provide projects to record and preserve intangible culture, especially local culture. One of them is the Ethnographic Museum and the Mortality Studies Center. The Faculty of Cultural Sciences also preserves the Museum of History and Culture as a learning medium and knowledge about objects of ancestral cultural heritage. Then as a cultural activist, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences also organizes cultural performances and performances in the form of the 2022 Cultural Festival. This is a project to remember the importance of local culture and knowledge as the identity and foundation of society, amidst the swiftness of foreign cultural elements. There is also a Student Activity Unit called UNAIR Dance and Karawitan (UKTK). UKTK UNAIR focuses on learning traditional dance and has won third place in the PEKSIMIDA (Regional Student Art Week) 2022 competition.
