Collaboration and Health Service
UNAIR has collaborated with UNICEF, Health Department, and Regional Development Agency since 2015 regarding “Initiative for Maternal and Child Health” programme. It aims to reduce child stunting and expanding vaccination coverage. As of 2023, the joint efforts have led to significant policy recommendations for health departments throughout East Java. We also cooperated ‘Merah Putih’ vaccine with the Ministry of Health and Dr. Soetomo Hospital. Developed by PT Biotis Pharmaceuticals Indonesia, this vaccine plays a vital role as our response to COVID-19. In addition to addressing medical requirements, its halal certification also aligns with the prevalent cultural values of the nation’s Muslim population.

Given the prevalent smoking culture in Indonesia and its consequent health implications, these regulations aim to comprehensively prohibit engagement with the tobacco industry across all UNAIR entities, including faculties, units, and organizations. Further underscoring this commitment, UNAIR has established the Airlangga Health Promotion Center, housing the No-Smoking Area Task Force at the Faculty of Public Health.
